Our Farming Ethos

Redberry Farm was founded by the grace of God in 2000 and has become the Garden Route’s favourite family destination.

Maintaining the quality of our soil and nurturing our people are at the core of our farming ethos. We take meticulous care of our soil, to ensure it is balanced so that nutrients are available for uptake by the plants. We reapply the nutrients back into the soil after every season using biological farming solutions.

Over 200 farm workers make sure that our fields are kept to standard and that our berries are ready to be picked and enjoyed by our visitors. We value this stable and loyal workforce, who hand-pick our berries with expertise and care. To upskill employees and support career development within our team, we conduct in-house training for the internal promotion of agri-supervisors, quality controllers and irrigation technicians.

We’re also very proud of our tourism team, which has grown from 3 people in early 2002 to over 24 permanent staff, excluding seasonal and casual workers.
