25 Years

Redberry Farm, which is celebrating its 25th birthday, has grown from humble beginnings into one of the Western Cape’s largest tourism attractions that welcomes national and international tourists. It also remains a favourite meeting place among locals.

This family-owned business comes from small beginnings. At its establishment in 2000 it consisted of only a small strawberry field and a farm stall that was open to the public a few days a week. Today, the farm boasts a range of attractions that cater to all ages. Guests can explore the farm’s artisan eateries, shop a delightful selection of strawberry products, and enjoy delicious strawberries throughout the year.

In 2008, Redberry Farm introduced a 600-meter mini train track offering a scenic ride which includes a tunnel. In 2013, the farm made history by opening the largest hedge maze in the Southern Hemisphere, with over 10 kilometres of pathways to navigate. Added to the activities are electric and pedal go carts, bumper boats, a bubble ball, pony rides and play parks. A recent and exciting addition is the World’s Largest Strawberry, which has become an iconic landmark along the Garden Route.

Over the years Redberry Farm has expanded into a commercial strawberry operation which now exports throughout the Middle East and in Europe. In 2018, the farm diversified by introducing golden kiwis, ensuring a steady, year-round source of fresh produce and income.
